The Andaman Islands
The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves & tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting rich marine life makes these islands a popular diving and snorkeling site. Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off limits to visitors.
In Port Blair, the main places to visit are the Corbyn's Cove, Cellular Jail, Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex, Ross Island & North Bay, Fisheries Museum, Anthropological Museum, Naval Marine Museum (Samudrika), ZSI Museum, Forest Museum, Chatham Saw Mill, Science Centre, Sagarika Emporium (The Cottage Industries), Chidiya Tapu, Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and Wandoor Beach.
